Stephanie Jack 卢恩典 (lú ēn diăn) is a Singaporean-Chinese and Australian actor, singer, and writer. In 2022, she was recognised by Asialink/University of Melbourne as one of 40-Under-40 Most Influential Asian Australians.

 

Her recent work includes playing Megan Lang in the  critically-acclaimed comedy series Deadloch (Amazon Prime Video), and the lead role in Michelle Law's play Miss Peony (Belvoir St / National Tour).

 

From 2010 to 2020 Stephanie was training and working overseas in the UK, USA, Russia, Singapore, and Shanghai. She graduated top of her B.A Drama cohort at the University of Bristol, and completed an M.F.A in Acting at Harvard's ART/MXAT Institute, including a semester abroad at the Moscow Art Theatre School.

 

Her credits include playing Madame in Archipelago Productions’ sellout season of The Maids alongside Essie Davis and Marta Dusseldorp; the New York Times Critics’ Pick The Light Princess; Rosehaven (ABC); and Bay of Fires (ABC).

 

During 2019, Stephanie lived in Shanghai studying Mandarin and kung fu. She documented her journey in a YouTube vlog called Mixed Up. With the support of Asialink and Arts Tasmania, Stephanie is developing a play loosely inspired by her time in China, Mixed Feelings. 

 

As an interdisciplinary artist creating across video and music, Stephanie’s work offers playful and poetic insights into personal acts of cultural reclamation. In 2022, she was invited by Plimsoll Gallery (UTAS) to present a video installation, 混 hùn, exploring cultural hybridity and multiracial code-switching.

 

Stephanie is a Regional Arts Fund Fellowship recipient (2021) and winner of the Margaret Scott Young Writers Fellowship (Tasmanian Literary Awards, 2022). Her debut play as a co-writer, A Mouthful of C Words, received critical acclaim when it premiered at Mona Foma in early 2023.

With the support of Arts Tasmania, she is working on the debut EP for her music duo with her partner Blaise Garza, Workplace Romance.
